My handwritten text in my this year's Christmas post falls unfortunately somewhat shorter.
Working on a book that the renowned French calligrapher Jean Larcher and I publish together in my edition,
is calling my attention since months. The book is a real masterpiece which will consist of 624 pages,
and Jean has worked for 7 years on it. I make the complete design, typing almost all texts,
attending to the translations and corrections, do the prepress and a lot of other preparatory work.
This is a huge project, but the work is worthwhile, because the book is exceptionally
and a great treasure for all lovers of calligraphy.

SUNG CALLIGRAPHY
This calligraphy was created in the summer of 2013 on the occasion of my exhibition
"Water Poems - Words in flow" on the inner wall of the castle "Gustavsburg" in my home Jägersburg .
I have given this work to the community and the town of Homburg as a present. The text I got from the organizers -
it was a joint decision , to choose exactly this text, according to the place where he is to be applied .It is attributed
to the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser because he often used the text in his works.
Originally it comes from Dom Hélder Pessoa Câmara , (1909-1999) , the Brazilian Archbishop and liberation theologian.
This was pointed out in the official opening speech , and it was noticed in this text was also a song . They asked
if there is anyone in the hall who knows this song and could sing it . Immediately a pastor stepped forward
to the official opening event , which took place in front of the calligraphic wall , and sang a verse of the song a capella ,
loudly and fervently . The previously good atmosphere among the visitors of the exhibition opening was turnung
so peaceful and positive, as I have rarely experienced at an opening . The next morning, an ecumenical Mass
was held in the courtyard of the castle Gustavsburg . The pastor distributed the text of Hundertwasser /
Camara to all present people with the corresponding notes, and the whole congregation sang the song .
So my exhibition, which was visited – by the way – outstandingly, was framed by
sung calligraphy - a wonderful experience for a calligrapher's heart!
